Streamyx
While I have only tested this with my ISP, Telekom’s Streamyx, this method works pretty much everywhere. I have entered the configuration below into my router and voila, my NAT’s open.
Port Forwarding
Xbox Live! requires the following ports to be forwarded in order to operate correctly:
- UDP 88
- TCP 3074
- UDP 3074
If you have no idea on port forwarding, you can check out PortForward.com. There are step by step instructions for tons of routers, with step by step instructions on how to enable port forwarding.
Too Lazy?
If you’re too lazy to do all the above, just add set your Xbox 360′s IP as the DMZ and you’re done. 
Hey I’m having such a hard time to set up XBOX Live acc here. I’m from Malaysia and the locale is not supported here. You said you could so I was wondering if you could help me out here. Did you use the Singapore locale? How did you set up windows live account?
It’s not launched officially in Malaysia yet. You need to set the locale to Singapore.
First, you need to get a Live/Hotmail Account, which you can do so by going to hotmail.com.
If you want the free 1 month Xbox Live Gold Trial, you NEED to sign up via your Xbox itself.
If you don’t need the free Gold Trial, you can register directly at xbox.com.
extremely easy for tm connection just check your diagnostic tool(on the tm dial up) and then connection setting the ip,dns,subnet mask and username and password are required)then just say you are in singapore and fin
I do not know how to set my xbox live. I do not know which ip address and dns server to use. I m confused. When i point my mouse to the internet lan icon in toolbar, should i get the ip address and dns server from the unidentified network or streamyx. So i tried both, during the connection settings in the xbox troubleshoot, my cables are connected and my ip addresses are configured. Next the dns server got error. I do not know what to do, can anyone help me? Plz….

How are you connecting the Xbox to the internet? Via a router or direct to your modem?
If you’re connecting it via a router, set your Xbox IP to DHCP.
If you’re connecting directly to the modem, you can configure your modem to dial to your ISP automatically via PPPOE.
It’s a pain in everyone else’s butt. Let?s just stop discussing this crap, the topic is too questionable.

It IS possible, I signed up under the United States, with a 300kbps(YEP, thats like SLOW) modem with TMNet Streamyx as my ISP.
At first I signed up at Xbox.com. I got Silver membership FREE.
Then I signed up AGAIN, under a different Gamertag on my Xbox 360 itself, and I got Gold, FREE for 1 month, and I am gonna go buy a Xbox LIVE 12 month prepaid card, at Silver X, Summit USJ, Selangor. It costs RM220.
So there you have it, and to all the PS3 fanboys and haters, just get lost; doesnt mean that Sony officially launched PS3 here, you PS3 owners get special rights or some crap. It makes no difference, except you get to paste the red, white, blue and yellow flag on your PSN ID.
Take note : Users with flashed, or ‘hacked’ Xbox 360s (the Xbox 360s that you get from the tauke that can play RM8 pirated DVDs) will NOT COMPLY with Xbox LIVE’s terms and conditions. Sign-up at your OWN RISK. Dont come crying to me if Microsoft sends you a ‘You have been banned’ note the next day.

Depends. If you have connected the xbox to the internet before this, the likelihood of you being ban is pretty high.

You can get one of those prepaid cards that allows online transactions like AMBank card.

My console xbox360 has been banned from XBOX LIVE because i live in Malaysia ( IP ADRESS ) and the account set in Singapore .
New policy banned all console ( with no come back possible ) that doesn’t have the IP ADRESS in the country they set up their account in .
MEANING i you don’t want your console xbox360 to be banned for life from connecting xboxlive ( CONSOLE ID ) you better wait malaysian xboxlive .

I finally decided to inch away from piracy, and got me an original Xbox 360 S Kinect(yay!). I am a Free Xbox LIVE user, and my Xbox 360 is registered under Singapore….
Problem is this.. I am having the same problem as alfianbeckham (the guy who commented above me). Although Im a Free user, I noticed that I am not entitled to view certain videos, let alone download game extras if I was even a LIVE Gold member.
For example, I recently bought a Gears of War Triple Pack which requires Xbox Live to download an extra game patch. According to the shopkeeper, I cannot download it because I am in Malaysia….
Likewise, when I download videos frm Xbox Live, some of the videos cannot be downloaded. I get msgs like “isn’t available in your location.”
I have been going around finding solutions, but havent found any. Please help and thank you!

It doesn’t matter what your email is originally registered at. You will need to select the correct region when you’re registering for your Xbox Live account. Last I checked, Malaysia’s credit card works with the singaporean account.
However, if you have created the american account and you intend to keep it, you can purchase Xbox Live points cards. You can find them from lowyat.net forum or playasia.

You can’t change region once you created your account.
1 easy way to make sure you’re registered to the right region is by registering for a new account on your console itself. You will have to crete a new account for this though.
If you’re on SG’s machine, which most of us here do anyways, get the card either from lowyat.net, playasia or get any of your friends to purchase it from SIngapore.
i also am planning to get gold, i am using us locale right now but if i get gold should i use singapore’s locale? and is it safe to get it?

If your locale’s US, you will have to create a SG account in order to activate using SG’s card.
I recommend SG’s account as its easier to get points here [Malaysia].

It depends on the region of Xbox Live you’re registered to.
Let’s say you’re playing via Xbox Live SG, you will then have to get the Singapore’s Live cards.
Same goes to US.

Last I checked, you can’t change your account’s region once you’ve set it.
The only option you have now is to register another account with Singapore as the region OR you can buy Microsoft Points for that specific region. I’d recommend you to stick with the more popular region though, like US or SG.
